I’m asking in terms of new homes, school districts, shopping, and dining. Looking for a newer area for young families. Can anyone also give examples of Masterplanned Communities that compare to Phillips Creek Rancho in Frisco, TX? Thanks an advance

La Cantera or Stone Oak or Alamo Ranch. Alamo Ranch is very young so it mostly chains right now.

San Antonio proper? I'd say Stone Oak, Churchill Estates, Rogers Ranch. Suburbs? Cibolo/Schertz/Live Oak/Selma confluence.

Frisco is probably more like the Reagan High School/Stone Oak area and Plano is like the Schertz/Cibolo/Universal City area

You could lump West Plano and Frisco with Reagan high /Stone Oak.

I lived in Frisco, granted it was in an apartment after selling and closing on our house in 20 days ( their RE market is pure insanity) but I don't think there's anything like Frisco down here. If you miss IKEA, Schertz or Cibolo may be a good option since our new IKEA will be nearby. But those massive planned communities ? We don't really have those. Stone Oak is really like a small suburb and I don't know enough about Alamo Ranch to comment. We have plenty of nice housing here, but it's in regular subdivisions. Yes, cookie cutter homes but they're incredibly popular.

I think Alamo Ranch would be the closest. It is one of largest master planed communities in the state. It is like Stone Oak though, which was also a master planned community, broken up into distinct subdivisions. So maybe your right, we don’t have the equivalent.

While San Antonio might not have anything that will "match" Frisco or Plano, I think the general consensus is the closest we will have in terms of growth rate and socioeconomics is Stone Oak or Alamo Ranch. It's like saying Alamo Heights/Terrell Hills/Olmos Park is our version of the park cities as far as an old money enclave. Sure, there aren't nearly as many billionaires, but it's the closest we have. Schertz/Cibolo would be the closest to McKinney. Boerne reminds me of a Lucas.
