Well - the chief of the Olmos Park PD has apparently decided that State law means nothing in his town. He confronted, then tased and arrested an Open Carry activist yesterday, then denied him medical care for his resulting injuries. Stand by for one helluva lawsuit, folks!!

Guy seems to be doing nothing wrong Would've loved to be privy to that call he had with the chief a day earlier. Looks like he knew there might be an issue. You know LEO's are probably going to be a lil "antsy" when they see firearms these days.
Why agitate? Again, looks like he's doing nothing wrong.

Grisham is a kook and his organization gives reasonable gun owners a bad name.

To an extent, you're right - but his kinds of actions DO draw attention to the FEW over-the-top LEO's out there. MOST of them are perfectly fine with armed citizenry - this guy, though, has made comments before that are definitely anti-gun, and they'll likely be brought out in court. A law firm has already committed to represent Grisham pro bono.

Perhaps he was jealous of McManus’s press time so he did what he could to garner some of his own.

These open carry fools aren’t doing gun owners any favors with these so called “audits” but still the chief is a total ass about it.

5-10 years ago, I’d agree with you. While I’m still not completely comfortable with HOW he does it, he HAS raised the consciousness about gun laws of the average LEO, who have (mostly) now learned that the simple act of walking around with a rifle is, in fact, perfectly legal if you’re not trying to scare folks with it. As a kid, I walked all over the place with a rifle, and no one thought twice about it.
