Also, a light rail between downtown and the airport could go either one of two ways, up San Pedro Ave or up Broadway.
and if you're going to go up Fred Rd., might as well make it go all the way to UTSA, and utilize the park and ride lot already located under 1604/I-10.

Good idea but our city is too backward thinking to ever get light rail. Also the Buppets would cry bloody murder if it were to happen. It is a sad state of affairs when not only City Hall but the media and citizens hype up sport events we can get booked but seem totally oblivious in trying to attract quality companies to set up shop here. Most of those companies when looking for places do look at things like light rail and not sport events or conventions.

Yep, those would be my first choice also, but I'm not sure on Light Rail at surface level. It is too disruptive to traffic, Houston is still having problems with it. I would rather bite the bullet and spend the extra money to get elevated rail, or Subway.

I lived in the St. Louis metro east area for 7 years. They have a great 2 state light rail system that goes from Airport in St. Louis to the airport near Scott AFB in Illinois. It gets good traffic and has been very successful.

SA isn't backwards at all. Please don't insult without even using the insulting word correctly. A backwards city wouldn't even try to bring this back up like its doing.

LOL. That's a new one...LOL. I've always heard most companies are always looking for tax incentives and quality work force.

Google chose to build it's engineering center (along with 600 high paying jobs) in Phoenix citing the cities new light-rail transit as part of their reasoning. Light Rail Now! NewsLog - Light Rail Transit News

No doubt a better transportation system is one of the only things holding this city from being world-class.

Lifestyle and transportation will be important to any company looking to relocate.

As for a light rail, I'd take it in a heartbeat! I'd love downtown to Medical, up Fred Rd, as that's where I have to go daily!

Sorry for the tangent, but since the subject of grammar was raised by TomBradyFan, I feel it's only fair to point out that TBF is using the word "backwards" incorrectly here. Please see the details at the link.
