about time I read one of those "I'm moving to SA and I'm so special that I need all my special stuff right next door to me blah blah blah blah blah" threads and found a post that said exactly what I wanted in it.

Some things just never change.............absence didn't make the heart grow fonder. Only more bitter.

the word is spelled

D-E-F-I-N-I-T-E-L-Y

and for a more credible reference:

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/definitely

just had to get that off my chest

My favorite version is "defiantly"!!! Because you're like, are you disobedient, or are you trying to say you're sure?

But yeah, definately, that's a common pet peave.

Just for kicks and becuase I was curious, I did a search on the San Antonio CD forum for definately and definitely. Try it - you won't be amazed!

edit: Scratch that...I also did a search for the word "the" and came up with zip for results. The program must return nil when overwhelmed with results. Anyway, there's lots of folks that did spell it wrong!

I think it's on that list of "commonly misspelled words"--in fact, I think I have a book of those.........peave is one, too.

It really is one of just a few misspelled words that bugs me for some reason. For the spoken word, the use of on line (meaning in a que) or irregardless bug the snot out of me, even though they are both sort of accepted.

Irregardless of how long it took, I stood on line for an hour just to get online. Definately a waist of time!
