EVO Entertainment Group took its family entertainment center plans a step further on Friday, announcing it would also build a 15,000 seat amphitheater in Schertz. The amphitheater will accompany the cinema-entertainment center EVO Entertainment Group is currently constructing at The Ranch at Old Wiederstein shopping center.

With multiple food and beverage vendors, private clubs, viewing areas for planned 2M visitors, I wonder what their plans about the traffic there? It's already very congested at any time of the day...

I have absolutely no clue. As you go north on the access road towards New braunfels, you have Cibolo Valley- Old Weiderstein Road. right up there is where Santikos Entertainment is building their movie theatre. Saw a semi trailer with the Santikos name on it and they are working the ground. The Evo Entertainment thing is past there next to Bussey's Fleamarket. There are all kinds of homes around that whole area. You have Belmont Place near Sippel Elementary School, plus other housing developments along FM1103, and across on the other side of IH35. Verizon built an ampitheatre on Lookout Road across from Retama park the race track. Went great guns UNTIL they started developing more and more houses. Then it wound up closing and some church uses it.This will not fly with the public.

I’m pretty sure the city already approved it.

They approved the entertainment center and work is in progress. They just approved the amphitheater. I think that's all close to the new IKEA location? (didn't check the map)

Edit: it's going to be on I35 and 3009 across the HEB Plus?

This is going to be on the NE corner of 35 and Wiederstein.

That concerns me too. And there are not many options to expand the hwy...
I wonder to what extent it was taken into consideration.

Austin just keeps on expanding south. The media up here is soooo excited for it. But they can escape the traffic on their drive back up north. At least with COTA there really wasn't anything out there before, instead of coming in an area that is already overloaded. SA never really recovered from losing Verizon. Hopefully, aside from traffic, this is a good addition to the concert scene in south and central Texas.

Get it right. San Antonio is expanding northeast (and west and north) and had been for awhile now. You stay in your overhyped bubble up there.
