According to the city of SA website:
https://www.sanantonio.gov/swmd/HHW/HHW-Drop-Offs

...I was supposed to be able to drop off my hazardous waste at 1800 Wurzbach this morning. So I go there, and all the entrances are blocked off, and there's no sign of any such activity going on.

I'm getting tired of storing half-empty aerosols and cleaning chemicals in my tiny apartment. So I guess my question is, what do you folks typically do with this sort of stuff?

I believe the drop-off locations are closed this weekend, due to the Labor Day holiday.

I guess I should have factored the holiday weekend into it. It looks like there's a mobile drop-off event coming up on the 15th, so I'll try my luck then....

I would call 311 and let them know your experience. Listed below the dates for the Bitters site on the website is the information for the Culebra dropoff point that is basically open daily:

Normal hours of operation Tuesday-Friday 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

It is on Culebra, just inside 410. Across Culebra from the big. NISD sports complex. No need to wait another month.

Looks like it's on for tomorrow (the Mobile Collection day scheduled Saturday Sept 15, 8am to 1 pm) assuming our weather doesn't go nuts. I drove by this afternoon on my way home, and the City Solid Waste Management had people and trucks there setting up in the church parking lot. It's on the I-35 access road just north of Rittiman. Just past Cracker Barrel and La Quinta Inn, the first big driveway.

Yeah, I'll probably sit this one out due to all the water, flash flood watch, etc. Looks like the next mobile drop-off will be in January, if they keep following the current timetable....
