Need a little subjective information,
We left New Jersey; my wife and I that is.Have been here in Keller since 2005. Have been reading up on the towns outside of San Antonio that have cheaper property taxes. Are these good places to retire in lets say approx. 10 years. Put on the fortune tellers hats! I'm looking for a 2 bedroom 2 bath home with about 1500 sq. ft. that sits on about 1 acre. It doesn't have to have alot of ambiance. It will just be me the wife and the 3 or 4 dogs. Or as many as we can afford at the time that we retire.
Do you have the same weather problems in the San Antonio area as we have here in Tarrant County? Here its alot of houses burning to the ground from either no rain for quite awhile and it gets real arrid and some moron throws a ciggarete out the window. Or a lightening stom strikes a house and burns it to the ground.

We get the morons that aren't careful with their fireworks and start multiple fires. We had a ton of fires this past New Years Eve. Fortunately, I don't think anyone's house burned...but it's only a matter of time.

It's better here!! It's not as cold. In winter we do not get the severity of the ice storms, we get em, but not near as bad. ( Now I've said that so let's see next winter).
In summer, we get the very little if any rain, except last year of course. There is always the exception. I think the weather is better, we are further south. Far enough to make a difference to me. A better difference.

Our weather is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. We are closer to the gulf and it moderates our climate a tad. With that said it is more humid here. As for fires north Texas always seems to have them worse than down here but idiots are everywhere. San Antonio is growing to quickly to say where the best retirement areas will be in ten years. (if we keep growing like we are we will have added 550,000 by the time you get here.)
