Hi everyone. I'm 22 (almost 23) and I have a 3 year old son. I'm currently staying with my parents while going to school full time. They have to move out in June and I need to find a place of my own. I'm currently looking for a job. I'm pretty positive I'm getting this job at citibank. =) But I'm worried about my living situation. I honestly have 0 dollars at the moment. . .barely making it to school with the gas in my car. Does anyone know how emergency housing works here in san antonio? SAHA? HUD? Bexar County Housing?

If you google saha all the info is on their website. I think you should hurry and get on their waiting list--I'm sure it's a big one and growing every day. You may need to start looking for friends to stay with in the interim.

Good luck on getting the job! And remember this is only a season in your life--not your whole life!

hi --- my husband is a police officer here in san antonio that works parttime at saha as a security officer --- he said that you would need to go into the SAHA offices at 820 S. Flores and put in an application for public housing --- there is no emergency housing that he is aware of ---

you would put in an application for public housing and you would get put on a waiting list for 2 yrs --- they will contact you by mail if something comes open --- if after 2yrs you have not been contacted you would have to put in another application ---

as far as section 8 dh says that SAHA is not accepting applications for sec. 8 at this time unless you or your son has a disability --- if there is a disability involved you would have to bring in medical records to prove the disability ---

hope that helps --- if not, just call SAHA with any other questions or for further explanations...

I work for HUD Housing, call SAHA and ask if they have Emergency Housing Funding for Homeless with Family or go to HUD SA,TX web (there's a Base office in SA) and look for Emergency Assistance/Homeless info will give you needed tools (Food, shelter etc.) and SAHA's site in the section About SAHA then scroll down to useful links (food, shelter, local and state Govt. offices & sites, etc.).....

I truly do hope and wish the Best for you and your Son

Why not just start a new thread? These always seem so contrived.
