All right, thanks, both sound tasty. Maybe the unwrinkled ones weren't fully ripe when picked, because of the shipping distances.
On one hand I think a little goes a long way (especially at such prices). I usually want to mash the pulp and get to the concentrated juice. When I used to go thru a lot of frozen lemonade in summer, adding 1-5 % PF flavor gave it such a zing! But the thought of baking the unbroken pulp sacs/vesicles, then having them 'pop' in the mouth during the meal is making me hungry. I expect the flavor of locally sourced/grown P. incarnata won't be nearly as intense as imported P. edulis fruit, but still pretty good. (should be debated in other forums, if at all, but wanted to mention it here as the OP wrote of possibly growing it.) As for substituting the commercial bottled juice product, it's usually a pale imitation in my experience (as a food chemist and a consumer and a food grower) - diluted, blended with other blander flavors & sugars, heat treated (twice), made from concentrate, might be a year old, oxidized and photodegraded and polymerized. But could be wrong.

Update one week later, for what it's worth:
CM price dropped from 5.98 to 3.98.
The (mostly all) smooth round ones are now (mostly all) dimpled/wrinkled.

I should ask them to slice one up and give out samples so I could see what these taste like.

^^^ Nice! But why pay so much, if you can get a pound for $1.69?
