Check into "Del Webb Hill Country Retreat" if you are looking for a 55+ retirement community with many amenities. If you are looking to be in a more rural setting then there are many Hill Country towns popular with retirees. Boerne is a good example.

Very Good one. So we best keep any recommendations as quiet as we can just in case. Send them to Cotulla, they might just find a modest home to fit their budget out there- and they can lay low.

Josefina1099. It depends on various factors in your life. How healthy are you? Not trying to pry.I'm 62 and a diabetic. If you have health issues, Boerne, New Braunfels, Seguin, Castroville, LaVernia and Cibolo offer some options. They are close to San Antonio, in emergencies. There are various places here in Schertz, but don't know what houses run.The one I live in my parents left me.There are various new developements around here with both one story and two story houses. We have a senior center, Library, YMCA, and clubs. If you get bored, you can volunteer with the school district. Aparrently, EVo Entertainment out of San Macros will be opening their theatre complex this month or next month. Also, Santikos is still working on their theatre complex with shops to come. If you have a pet or pets, I take mine to Schertz Animal Hospital on FM78. Schertz and many of the surrounding towns put on festivals at various times. If a religious person there are plenty of churches including Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma, Good Shepherd Catholic in Schertz, and Immaculate Conception in Marion. Marion is more rural, but still close to a big city as is Lavernia. Get on Google Maps, and you can see how everything is connected location wise.
