So, two adults attack a minor (most likely bad acting minor) and the powers that be at the local courthouse are calling for adult homicide. Maybe they have reason, who knows, I’m tired of the nice innocent young girl pictures that our lazy and pathetic local press keeps showing. This moron, with her friend, went to physically assault a minor years younger over a boyfriend. The deceased “kid” was not an angel nor did she deserve to die, but this story reeks of things we have to be exposed to because local officials cannot get a handle on local issues.

What is any of that block of words supposed to mean? A 16 year old stabbed and killed an 18 year old. Through all the external nonsense aside, that’s the bare bones of it. A 16 year old committed murder. Now, they want to charge her as an adult.

If the 16 year old was defending herself, she will be able to defend herself in front of a jury and if she was defending herself, the jury will give her a not guilty of murder verdict. If they don’t think she was defending herself, it’ll be guilty.

It’s that simple.

I figure there most be more to the story that we're not being told. It doesn't make sense that someone would be ambushed when she came home from work, defend herself on her own property and then be arrested and charged with murder for defending herself.

If only it was that simple. According to all of the press releases two adult women went onto a minors property to "jump" her.

Quote:
According to the San Antonio Police Department, the juvenile suspect called police to say that two other girls had been threatening her on social media.

She said that when she got home from work, she was attacked by the two girls were in her driveway.

Police in Live Oak later reported they found two stabbing victims at another location. One of the victims, an unidentified 18-year-old woman, was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center where she later died.

According to police, Castilleja and Vivian Foster, 20, were stabbed by the suspect after the women went to the girl's house to confront her. Castilleja and the suspect allegedly had a long-running dispute, some of which played out over social media.

The CJ system is pretty broken here in San Antonio and on top of that, the children and young adults here in San Antonio seem to be pretty violent these days.

Look up the recent story of Matthew Dempsey and Daniel Saucedo. Pretty sad.

That was a very hard story to read. I hope drugs were involved otherwise it is pretty unfathomable someone would do that to relative much less their own mother.

I agree.
It is that simple. If it were purely self defense then her defense team will be able to make the case and she’ll be found not guilty.

I read on Facebook that she ( the murderer) was telling people beforehand that she was going to kill this girl. The prosecution must have more information than the social media lawyers do. At least it appears they do, based on the charges.

I'm genuinely curious what the OP thinks "local officials" need to fix and what tools they should use to fix it. It always seems to me like when city council legislates a fix to some societal issue, people here get up in arms about the overreach, the cost or both.

Hmm.

Man from OH (now) would like to ask me why I want my city safer.

What would I do? I’d get a great paying job, buy a nice house, donate to charity, and expect NOT to be killed on the freeway access road.

We have a mentally ill man who plays golf at the Brook Hollow and 281 gas station. Asked SAPD to do something. We get nothing. We get to enjoy a whole bunch of street walkers every single day walking down Brook Hollow going to that hotel.

Oh, back to your question AGAIN. I’d ask SAPD to do the job we pay 60% of our city budget for these people to do. When I call them about the man hitting golf balls in the field they should care enough to show up! I’d also ask to flood the ghetto east side to stop the rolling gun battles.

Sorry. I guess I ask too much.
