Bought undeveloped land and have CPS energy going out on Friday to tell me how much it will be to get electricity on the property. The closest pole is next door about 700 feet away give or take. Anyone have an estimate on how much they usually charge and how long it will take them to actually install the pole and get it going?

Thank you so much for the response. I got quoted $4,000 for 350 feet and the wait is about 2 to 3 months out. Mind you I put this application for electricity since Feb 3rd. I really wish we had two different companies to choose from for electricity, gas, water and septic. It's crazy how they take advantage of people with these prices. Water was quoted at between $10,000 and $38,000 mind you there are no sewer lines out there.

Usually in a competitive energy-provider market, there is a single utility that furnishes the infrastructure, like the lines, poles, transformers, meters, etc. Then you choose who you want to provide energy service from multiple providers.

So, if we had multiple providers to choose from to supply our energy, you would still be dealing with a single utility to extend the necessary infrastructure to your property.
