Swamp coolers only work well in dry climates, like PHX. In SA, they're next to useless.

this is a good bump. what are some good examples of cookie cutter neighborhoods in SA... because i keep hearing that phrase tossed around.

I honestly consider most "master planned communities" as cookie cutter. If you can drive down the street and identify a house that looks exactly like yours with the same layout but with a different color palette then it's cookie cutter. Many KB neighborhoods look "cookie cutter" to me, whether they are newer (within the last 10 years) or older (built in 1970s). But other builders like DR Horton, Armadillo, newer Gordon Hartman (I know he got out of the business), some Pulte and Centex homes are the ones that stick out to me.

I had a friend in high school that lived in the Eden subdivision who had the exact same home as an extended family member that lives in country view village a good 10 miles away.
