SA's slide continues.

Councilman Perry had the audacity to ask what the price tag was.

Crime rate through the roof......roads in disrepair.....SAPD understaffed....the list of problems the city SHOULD be worried with is seemingly endless.

But - let's do something TOTALLY unrealistic so that we can be part of the "Cool" crowd.

Folks, you keep electing these fools in, you're not going to be able to afford to live in SA.

Isn't San Antonio the biggest city in Texas that does NOT do emissions testing for vehicles?

It is time for it to start on both gas AND diesel personal vehicles at least.

I am probably going to hate it because I own two vehicles that are non-DPF diesel powered but then again I am not driving a Cummins or Duramax, rolling coal everywhere out of a huge exhaust tip like i am seeing around San Antonio often. A lot of these guys are doing DPF delete kits too and get away with it.

If they remain in compliance w/emissions testing, they don't NEED to do it per the law. And those you see "rolling coal" - you CAN call the state and report them. More info:

https://www.tceq.texas.gov/airqualit...gvehicles.html

Or call them at 1-800-453-SMOG (7664). Bear in mind - the law applies ONLY to vehicles that are emitting smoke longer than 10 seconds, so don't abuse the reporting system and tie up resources.

The good thing is, they don't come in with hammers to beat the offender over the head the first time around. Several years ago, we had a truck that was running rich. Our driver didn't report it (as they are supposed to), and we didn't notice it. Got a call from TCEQ, and that truck was in the shop that afternoon. Unless under a heavy load, black smoke indicates a engine running rich, which wastes fuel - so most wise users don't like seeing it.

Face it, we are getting the same type of liberal governing that Austin already has on issues like this. (Never mind the facts, this is what we have to do).

Would have no emission problems or greenhouse gas if we didn't have a summertime high pressure system that parks over the state in the summer.

Please ask local, state or national elected official to legislate this away and we would never have this problem.

No kidding on the roads. I was there earlier this month to check out the city for relocation and the lane markings were faded to non-existent. There were times I had to just follow the car in front of me and guess if it was one lane or two. The roads suck. The people were nice though

Patently false. San Antonio’s crime rate has been plummeting since the 90s like every other city in the country.
