I can’t speak to if there is too much or too little focus on Dia de Los Muertos, but last night at the Pearl, they had a pretty great party/celebration of the occasion. Was nice to see so many people out enjoying the evening, many celebrating in costume, etc. I don’t get out much, but it has been a long time since I’ve seen as many people out at the Pearl as I did last night.

San Antonio is a tourist town. This all makes sense.

I like all the costumes and people having another "spooky" holiday here in San Antonio. One thing I don't like is how they have these events where they have altars and even altars to the "Santa Muerte". If you are going to be putting altars to the Santa Muerte then don't be surprised when another event like the winter blast comes around and kills a bunch of people in town. Beckoning the Santa Muerte is not wise.

It is celebrated pretty widely in North Texas also.

This is not as surprising to me because there are a lot of recent mexican immigrants from the north and south in Dallas.
