Take a day trip north of here to the Fredricksburg / Johnson City area. There are several wineries up there. Beckers come to mind. There are some nice bed and breakfasts in that area also. Don't forget to stop by Luckenbach Texas for a cold beer on your way back to SA.

Fredericksburg is exactly where you need to be. They've got a lot of great wineries a short drive from Main. There are a few killer German restaurants up there too.

Beckers is our favorite. We always stop by there and have a bottle of wine on their huge back porch. Very relaxing.

If you don't want to drive to Fredicksburg (which I highly recomend you do) then a little closer to town is the Vinyard restuarant. Its very nice and serves local wines. The smoked prime rib is delicious. Its only about 30 minutes north of downtown.

We love Becker Vineyard also! Dr. Becker did a Vinter's Dinner last year at Leon Springs Grill and we participated. Appetizers and Champagne for starters then a 6 course meal with wine pairings at each course! It was specatcular! I went to their website to locate their wines and saw an ad for a Grape Stomp and Lucy dress-alike contest. Well, I went and won 3rd place! It was too much fun!!!!!!!
