I see it and don't like it either. It is very scary that a lot of people actually support it. Most by ignorance, but an unbelievably high amount know full well what they are supporting.

You may be surprised to hear that Kevin's a Republican and Nelson's a Democrat. I have met Kevin and heard him speak a few times. He impressed me on those occasions.

I've read Nelson's latest book, but haven't had any personal contact with him. The book describes how he managed to get a lot done as county judge, operating from a position that has much less power than the mayor of San Antonio. I wasn't here when he was mayor, and overall I don't have a strong opinion about him one way or the other.

I kinda wish Phil could stick around for a few more years.
I agree. He's made some positive changes and shown the value of steady leadership.

Before he was elected 3+ years ago, I attended one of the mayoral debates. Phil showed up 20 minutes late for the debate and came across as folksy, but offered the the least-substantial answers of the 4 candidates on the stage. I came away from that debate convinced that Castro would win because he had forthright answers and was very polished. You just never know how these things will turn out.

this is my point, people forget that nelson was caught up in a federal investigation last year because of his involvement with our old sherrifs antics. its all water under the bridge and people would still vote for him

as far as Phil, you need to understand the voting demographics in san antonio. in a nutshell, castro beat phil indistricts 1-7, but phil won disticts 8-10. any candidate that can garner 8-10 have a better chance to win than anyone else. this is why cibrian thought she was automatic and also why castro changed his stance for the PGA deal.

I like what she has done. Yea she has her raw backs but if it comes down to her an that Casto duo I'd take or anyone for that matter over him.

As for the Cancun thing she only added to here forms outta safety. She was found to have done no wrong doing. In fact it was a long time friend that she went with. The express news is ok but it seems to write a few to many whack job one sided articles for my taste.

I'm sorry, I can't vote for that woman, period. But from what I understand, the folks in her district love her - unless they happen to be entrepreneurs.

I'm with you Dave..I don't know why that when she issues a statement (however stupid) all the news outlets pick it up and run with it. I watched one of the city council meetings and all I saw one expert smoke blower.........
