Hmph! Thread moved!

I always wondered why the lure of the hill country never got the studios. Villa Muse will bring in musical talent as well I believe and is supposed to have one of the largest sound stages in the continent, so I am sure we can expect big things from them.

I also wonder how SAF will do with these sets. How are they going to do Rodeo Drive? Really the whole thing? And I wonder what else they have in store...Maybe a 5th Avenue? They said they would put restaurants and shops on the Rodeo lot, which leads to my next question, how will they incorporate the public with the lots? Actually make real residential areas? So many questions! lol

At this point Villa Muse is only a proposed development. They spent millions only to have their proposed Austin location fall apart. The development is still eying property near Bastrop, but it is likely years away from any ground breaking.

It is great to see SAF Studios become a reality.

The studios are being built at the NW intersection of Loop 1604 and Nelson Rd. The first phase is estimated to cost about $50 million. It is being funded by investors from Dubai and California.

You people understand that SAF Studio's is a reality while that other project is basically a pipe dream. SAF Studio's is serious about what their doing, big time.

Interesting! As a film student from UT-Austin and involved in several film productions myself, I think this is very interesting....but I just don't have the confidence that it will be too successful. They will need to constantly have productions going on. After the slowdown of 2003, I don't see how Texas can keep crankin' e'm out. I hope I'm wrong.

I wonder how the investors from Dubai are doing these days. Dubai is billions of dollars less wealthy today than it was 20 months ago when this thread opened. If their funding is essential to the project, the project may be in trouble.

I know Villa Muse is a proposed project(can't a girl dream!), which is why I am actually more excited about SAF studios because it is going under construction.
