Hello.
My name is Sarah and I'm 28. I've never moved out of state before and after visiting SA, I fell in love.
I've been looking around at jobs around SA but have come to a predicament of where to begin with my relocation.
I have a child(4) and an apartment full of things that I need to figure out on how or if are going with me on this journey.

Where are good places to look for a 1 to 2 bedroom apartment under 800$?
Do any in the area accept cash up front in lieu of pay stubs (while I secure a job)?
What jobs are good paying to maintain a sustainable income?

Any advise is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

What are your qualifications?

Two bedrooms under $800 won't be "good".

Default Nah,

You need to allocate more money than $800.00 monthly for housing. Else you might not find such a nice place to live.
You might find it difficult to find a good paying job here without some, education or training.

Don’t move without a job in this economy. My sister moved back to SA right as all this started and is still unemployed living with our parents. She’s got an associates in burundesa with lots of non-profit experience.

I am looking for a 1 bedroom and I am still looking at trade skill jobs, etc. I have a large manufacturing background and experience in delivery.

I am just trying to figure out things currently.

Are you with family nearby now?

Tough to pull it all together with a 4 yo in tow. (Can't work multiple jobs)

Hang tight for now, save up a bundle, get your training, make connections and job prospects in SA. Plan the move when 4yo is age 6+(school age) FT

Have a church or similar on board to help with transition. Some in our church have 'sponsored' singles with kids.... Offering separate living space and child care assistance for parent to get a good start on employment, / then housing.

Use an apartment re-locator service, they are free to you.

We rented a place we would have never thought of, and they gave us a discount since my wife worked for a hospital. Apartment was near the medical center, sort of.

We had to show pay stubs or a job offer.

I think we paid $720 for a 1BR and we were in a decent area, had no problems during the one year lease.

I just left a week ago. I was there for 2 weeks in an air bnb.

I got a feel for the area I was in but was looking for a more open look.

Get a job then come back snd we will offer better insight. SA is a big city and if you get a job on the south side but you live in stone oak it’ll be a stupid silly drive just because we offered that as “best place.” Best depends on you snd whet your need.
