Hey I have an distant friend of mine whose daughter is a senior on a women’s team who is most certainly destined to be a part of the women’s ncaa tournament bubble at the Alamodome in 2021. I’m trying to help him with hotel options. I’m not sure what his budget is but if it was daughters senior year in college money would be no object.

Anyway given the location so far I’ve suggested Hotel Havanna, Mokara hotel and spa and St Anthony’s. Any hidden gems downtown for them which are not over priced? I can’t remember the name of the newest hotel downtown.

Any thoughts on prior knowledge of how these events have been run in the past? In terms of which hotels have hosted teams? For men’s tournament they usually designated one hotel as team x, but with 32 or 64 teams and fans headed here it could get crazy.

For that kind of trip, the Menger would be my choice.

May want to check to make sure there will be fans at this event. Even if there are fans, tickets may be very limited.

Highly doubt there will be a flood of fans from 64 teams during the COVID era.

The Menger is kinda run down these days. I think if money were no object I’d go for the Hotel Emma.

I agree about the fans comment but these are her parents. You’d have to think they’d let the family in.
