Deputies patrolled the area, and that’s when one of them noticed a large group of people jumping out of the back of the refrigerated truck and running into the woods, according to the BCSO. Many were dressed in T-shirts and jeans, which could pose a threat to their health in the winter conditions.
Bexar County deputies were able to detain about 50 of them near the gas station off I-35 and Loop 1604.

Didn't they knew that it's still freezing cold here?

With overnight lows in the lower 20's, it's going to be a long night for the ones still running.

It was at the new QT at 1604 and 37, not 35.

Was this the same truck that the other week distress cell phone calls were coming from?

Immigrants will come here illegally regardless of who is president, remember the trucker that abandoned his load of them at Wal-Mart on the Southwest side of town in summer of 2017. In that instance, 10 died and the trucker was sentenced to life in prison.

No follow up on that story, yet.
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said he believed from the information they have, that the migrants came through Mexico but originated in Guatemala and El Salvador.
He said he didn't believe the migrants were a direct threat to the community but "I think they’re in danger of freezing to death out here if they’re out here for very much longer."
"Our concern is that people are going to be very much exposed to...the elements and quite frankly we’re worried that the people may be in distress very soon, so we’re hoping we can get these folks some medical attention and some help they need," he said.

I noticed any mention of this cannot be found on the news now. Not on their website, on tv, nada. Wonder why?
No update as to where the ones caught were taken or if the border patrol is involved. No coverage on the search for the remaining ones on the loose. What are they afraid of?

Nor of the truckload last summer turned over to Catholic Charities by the police chief.

News typically keep moving. Lots of people nowadays only read headlines anyway. Yesterday's news is an old news and people want to read about something new.

I bet that most people on C-D who post links never really read the articles. They share and comment on posts after only reading the headlines, and that has been confirmed many times in the past.

So, why bother with updates??
