Sorta, kinda, but not really.

For the monied (or willing to spend a bit), it's not difficult. I've seen a ton of new faces at The Argyle, as well at Plaza Club, almost all having come in from the West Coast. They're an affable bunch.

Same goes for the neighborhoods. Olmos and Alamo Heights are a nice mix of locals and transplants and no one is idiotic enough to utter 'don't California my Texas' at any point. It's just socially inept.

Outsiders will demand more of this city whether locals like it or not. I'm okay with that.

Meeting up in person to network or for business development is really old school nowadays. COVID-19 has accelerated digitalization in every aspect and those who are still working the phones or networking events in the old traditional ways will always be stuck in the past. Now for some businesses, hand shaking and lunches are still the way but even those industries have to adapt to the new digital front.
