Not sure how many of you get over the air HDTV, but KMYS (formerly KRRT) broadcast a multi-stream (35-1, 35-2) and on 35-2 they had The Tube which is a music network that played videos 24/7 (imagine that!). I was taking down Christmas decorations this morning and flipped over to watch some videos, but 35-2 doesn't even come up on my TV anymore! Anyone have any insight as to what happened?

I checked the KMYS website, and they used to have a blurb about the Tube on there, but they don't any more, and I can't find any way to contact the station via email to ask them directly.

So I emailed, and actually got a reply. According to KMYS, it was pulled because of "low viewership and revenue concerns."

However, the station was only broadcast Over The Air (OTA) because it is digital and TWC doesn't carry any of the Sinclair station's HDTV broadcasts (another reason we need some more choice around here in TV). In addition, the Tube doesn't run any commercials, so they're not providing any revenue...Sinclair simply pays for it.

According to a wikipedia article, all Sinclair stations airing The Tube dropped it as of Jan 1 because of contract issues. Why a broadcaster would announce a contract with someone in September only to terminate it in January is beyond me, but it seems as though Sinclair has other issues as well, like the whole HD things with Time Warner.

Just FYI...
