I am talking about building more housing for central SA which includes a skyscrapers. Corporations perceptions tend to favorite the way Austin is going. I envision midrise condos from Dt to Hildebrand to include the old ButterKrust, Pearl Brewery and the new riverwalk extension. I also envision new high rise condos around the FSH area so the new personnel can live. All I hear is 20 th century thinking in the 21st century

Since originally creating this thread, i've had a change of heart about our downtown skyline. I've grown to like it much more and the view from 281 going south is really beautiful.

That is largely the San Antonio mindset.

There are so many "outdated" ideas here it makes me crazy! It is frustrating to deal with, but I have noticed a much more progressive attitude over the last year or so (bonds, etc.) Now if we can only get term limits extended next month...

SA downtown skyline is so sorry looking. When are we going to get some more condos and lofts like other cities are getting downtown and the inner east and west sides of town

my brothers girlfriend lives on a street called W. Broadview --- right on the corner of about 3 intersecting streets --- anyway, i went over to her house for the first time this past Thursday night and from her backyard you have a clear view panoramic of the downtown skyline...

it was nighttime when we went and the skyline was so very pretty --- it may not be as huge and grand as most other cities, but in my eyes, it was still a beautiful site to see ---

The condos atop the Grand Hyatt and the Vidorra condominiums are both coming online now. I'd say they affect the skyline.

My take is a bit esoteric:
Going west-bound on 410, I like to take the I-10 exit to downtown just to reafirm the reason I moved here. The view takes my breath away.

Is this Broadview over in Inspiration Hills? There are several streets on the top of the hill there that have the downtown views.

I lived on Broadview for a while...it is an extremely hilly area, which awesome views of downtown. It's an interesting area with grand old homes.
