Hi,

We are relatively new to the area and I'm looking for a general practice doctor in the far north central area. I'd prefer a female.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Ok, here is some info off the top off my head to help you get started. Used to work with pc drs in that area over 2yrs ago so maybe others have some updated insight.

I think there are a few female internists in that area as well.

As for PC/GP/FP:

*Dr. Cynthia Saucedo and Dr. Laura Villarreal are located at 525 Oak Center Dr. Extremely busy practice, there are more drs included in this practice, however, those listed above are the only two females.

*Dr. Wendy Nguyen and Dr. Hoefle. New dr at practice.
Stone Oak Family Doctors 225 E. Sonterra. Office staff is very friendly and organized.

And that would be all that comes to mind....female PC drs in Stone Oak/Sonterra.

Thanks so much - I was thinking of trying Drs Nguyen/Hoefle. My husband goes to Dr Phillips who is in that practice but I don't know anyone that sees Nguyen or Hoefle.

I've heard good things about Dr. Hoefle. That entire practice is highly recommended by other people I've spoke to. We were planning on using them as well.

Our experience with that practice was completely different! We were disappointed and frustrated.

The office staff is disorganized and nervous, and defensive about their mistakes. They could use a course on customer service.

Dr. Domingues, a new member of the practice, brushed off my husband's health concerns and recommended an over the counter medication instead of trying to determine the cause of his condition. She treated him like a moron when he suggested he'd prefer to get an actual diagnosis.

I've been treated by wonderful doctors, and also by doctors who are jokes. I know the difference.

They have a lovely new office, and the phlebotomist on duty when I had my blood drawn was superb. But I'm cancelling my appointment. We'll find another source of medical care.

Any recommendations?????

I just found out there's another family practice around the corner from Stone Oak Family Doctors (the practice where we had the bad experiences) that has an almost identical name.

The other one is called Stone Oak Family Practice. The Stone Oak Family Practice doctor, who is highly recommended by our local fire chief, is Dr. Stephen Ramirez. We'll go to him instead.

Good luck!

Dr. Ramirez (Stone Oak Family Practice) has been our family doctor more than a year now so I thought I'd follow up.

He listens to his patients, and is genuinely concerned, efficient and thorough. He also recommends excellent specialists, all in the Stone Oak area. We hope he'll be our family doctor for a long time to come.

Dr. David Tharakan on E. Sonterra Blvd. Suite # 301 (across Stone Oak Methodist Hospital) is a really great doctor. He spends time with his patients and he really cares. For cash paying patients: sports physicals are only $40.00. The staff was really nice and knowledgable. Dr. Tharakan is also one of the few doctors under MetroHealth's Immunization List scoring 100% on review with the State of Texas. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
