I drive a 2002 F150, and am pretty much a recluse, so I fill up when I am nearly out of gas.

I go about 250 miles on a tank +/- (about 12 -14 MPG) and the last time I filled up was in Kerrville at $3.65/gallon and it was just a tad under $80.00. yeeeeeouch!

Now with the holiday weekend I am driving down to Port Aransas so I can only imagine what the stations will be jacking up the prices to.

I suppose I should get gas tomorrow and take the wife's car for the rest of the week...if I leave the house. LOL

I still say I need a part time job to be able to afford to drive to the gas station to get gas. ha!

I have a Toy Tun 4x4 but rarely drive it, unless we head out to the land. Otherwise it's the Yaris back and forth to work 42 miles a day and I get about 2 weeks on it.

SOME TIPS TO SAVE GAS MONEY:

Don't have heavy stuff in your vehicle
Do without the AC if you can
Fill up, don't pinch pennies and only fill up half way
Drive below 60 mph in the (RIGHT LANE)
Fill up during cool hours, night or morning

Not sure on others.....

2007 honda pilot --- apx $55 - $60 to fill up at $3.60 a gallon

dh drives a 1994 toyota camry --- apx $45 to fill his tank

...

does going without the A/C really save money??? --- i heard somewhere, i forgot where, that it really costs more money to drive with the windows down because you are creating drag/resistence with the wind pushing into the car ---

Traded in the F-150 a year ago and am more than making up the difference in car payment with the savings in gas

07 Nissan Altima - $66 at last fillup (20 gallon tank, put in about 18), but I also squeeze 500+ miles out of a tank of gas (since I changed my driving habits)

Hey QT! I have a 06 SAAB 9-3 2.0T and It takes regular 87 just fine. Mine takes just over fifty bucks to fill up every two weeks. I drove it from SA to Dallas last weekend and it got 35.6 MPG at 75 MPH on 35.
