Absolutely. I also travel a lot and that’s what keeps me tolerating living in this state lmao

Being a mid-20 something I don't really think SA is boring, especially these days. 10 years ago I probably would have been singing a different tune. I've lived in Austin twice and gone up there countless weekends and Rainey/West 6th start to get old + you see the same people over and over again pretty quickly. I'd imagine Houston and Dallas to be kind of the same thing, without the perk of having Town Lake. If people want the crazy/fun city lifestyle they're gonna have to go to NYC/Chicago/Miami.

More high income jobs are always welcomed to the city, but when it comes to younger people I think there's always that "grass is greener somewhere else" mentality when you grow up somewhere. I've seen a lot of people come back to SA in recent years.

It's not always about city amenities and nightlife, could also be outdoorsy activities. I think SA is getting better at this with its river greenway trails.

Yeah that's true, you have hiking and stuff on the NW side too. I don't know how possible it would be, but I always thought it would be cool if they made something like Boerne Lake closer into the city. Or repurpose one of the old quarries into a watersports kind of place. Some of those especially by Stone Oak/The Rim are taking up prime real estate.

Valero and salado are one of the many reasons I love my trips to SA. It’s not a reason for me to move back from Austin. (I even came down for the rock n roll half and drove back up to the rim to get some more miles in).
