I guess he was restricted somehow at some point. He didn't have the "scales" when I made my post earlier.

This thread is way off topic now. Last post before me has nothing to do with the forum dying but just some holier than thou attitude about some San Antonio people.

So it has always been. The world is moving to the left, move with it or get bowled over by it. You would not believe how conservative San Antonio used to be but a few generations back. Maybe you would.
Hell things here are practically a liberals paradise in comparison.
People resist change, it is what it is and it has always been that way. And that is the way it is and has always been.
People here do not want to pay for change, resist taxation and changes that means higher taxes, they think.
The old guard always dies out and change comes always. The entire state of Texas resists change though, from the Top down, if you get my meaning. They are hanging on with grit teeth too ;to the old ways and, old ways die hard.
It is of no use though, all will have to be dragged kicking and screaming all of the way to the middle of the 21st century. Texas is socially in the backwaters of progress, back where the fetid water is, brackish. Eventually, all; will have to come out into the sunlight, like a blind salamander.

A lot of people in this city just don't want anything to change, even if it's falling apart or was a piece of crap to begin with. They resist it with every fiber of their being because change and progress scare them.

That is slowly changing as the old guard dies out and, thankfully, some of the younger ones are sticking around versus leaving (as most of the smart/driven/successful ones used to do).
