I posted a few months ago about buying a house near Lackland AFB, and I just wanted to say that we moved in to our new house two weeks ago I just wanted to say that I live in a neighborhood just north of 90, and we are very happy! My original problem was that we wanted to buy a house under 105,000 . . .and we did! We found a foreclosure (really sad actually), but worth a lot more than what we paid.

I must say also that I have had nothing but warm welcomes to San Antonio since we arrived! We were intially worried because our subdivision is predominantly Mexican-American, and we were worried that we would not be welcome. We have been more than welcomed here though, our neighbors are great and our kids have made friends already.

Anywho, just wanted to write a little "update" . . .I was very, very upset and scared about moving here, but I am to report that we have been pleasantly surprised!

Glad to hear everything turned out well. Generally speaking Mexican-Americans (and San Antonians in general) are a pretty welcoming and friendly bunch.

I've always said that SA is one place where race or ethnicity did not matter. There has always been a relaxed feeling of live and let live and if we find each other in that journey, all the better.
I'm very glad your happy, and feel so good about SA. It gets better. I did for me, the longer I am here, the more I know I'll never leave.
Welcome to Paradise.
