It only took SAT a couple decades behind every other major city in the state.

Interesting choice of carrier. A non-legacy, young discount airline with not great reviews and some questionable rules of carriage.

Condor doesn't exactly have a strong foothold in either the Euro or US market.

I wonder what the bribe... er, benefits package... that was offered to them to pick SAT.

It is a start. Can't please everyone though. Give some people an inch, they want a mile.

Yes, the city had to provide incentives- certainly not unusual. Small cost to put us on International stage.

Of course Lufthansa would be preferable choice as would not having Spirit at SAT, but people fly Spirit. Frankfurt is the only logical choice for a European destination and the fact that it flies only three time weekly may make it profitable.

The last time I looked Frankfurt has the most European daily departures out of SAT-mostly military and DOD going to Rein Mein. The military may have made a deal to double up departures to go on the three days Condor flies.

I would like to see British Air fly out of SAT to London and Air France to Paris. Won't happens for decades if ever. Take what is offered.

How many MILLIONS in incentives have been given for $15/hr. call center jobs and other business that never lived up to their word?

At least we can see an international departure starting next spring.

Will Condor have upgraded “First-Class” seats for more legroom, or even the ones that recline all the way down to a bed?

Sure, it's something, but why wouldn't we want something better to begin with?

'Good enough' seems to be the San Antonio motto.

Regardless, it'll be interesting to see if this materializes, as May is a long way off and the industry remains soft.

In the meantime, SAT can keep working on getting the money they need to make this fantasy new airport appear. They're nowhere near the near $3 billion they need.

Lots of airlines don't offer First Class anymore. Airbus 330 business class offers great Stelia Solstys and Safran Skylounge Core seats.
