New "gotcha." No Mac drivers for the 2wire wireless adapter! Not from the CD, not from the company website, nothing. It must be a cheap POS. Working on setting up my Netgear wireless router immediately so I can download my podcasts and update my Mac formatted ipod already...

edit: this wireless adapter is crap... it's died on me twice in the last 24 hours now.

solution: buy Linksys.. it's owned by Cisco and you know they know a thing or two about routers..

other solution: just say no to Mac's..

Ah, but then I would have no machine stable enough to handle work and keeping important things safe... I realize that most newer computers come with a wireless card, but you'd think they would look into whether or not the little antenna actually works with people's machines.

Believe me, I'm all for Cisco, but I found a comprehensive set of instructions for setting up my router to do what I need. Much cheaper solution.

an antenna is just a means of broadcasting and/or receiving radio waves and the only thing specific to them is what spectrum they're made to handle. What exactly is wrong with your antenna? All wireless operates in either the 2.4 or 5 GHz bands or both and that's why they have little tiny antennae. luckily they didn't go for the HF spectrum or else we'd all have those old whip antennae hanging out the back of our computers
