Last night I started noticing some itchy red "bites" around my waist & on my back. There were maybe 30? Today, I stopped counting after 100 & there are MORE!

They are all different sizes and they itch and hurt. Some (sorry for gross detail) have a little yellow stuff on the top....they MAY all have & maybe I scratched in my sleep?

Any idea of bugs in SA that would do such a thing? My MIL was trying to say I have shingles but now my DD has about 20 of these too.

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW help! I'm not enjoying this biting welcoming committee that has found us

Sounds a little like fire ant bites, but you would have known you acquired those at the time you got them.

Maybe welts? From the heat around your waistband. It might be more of a heat rash?

Sounds like chinch aka chigger bugs. They are picked up from grassy areas. Welcome to TX it is insect heaven.

Going forward do not sit on or walk barefoot in the grass. It is only a problem during the summer months.

The tiny chigger bugs burrow into your skin. Get some prescription strength quell lotion from your physician to clear up the bites.

I think you need to get it diagnosed and then figure out the treatment and/or extermination from there.

Are they in places where your clothes bind you (waistbands, bra straps, etc.)? That's where chiggers like to get. Rubbing alcohol will relieve the itch in the short term, and I've also painted over the welts with nail polish to smother the little critters, but a pharmacist can probably recommend something better.

I moved into a house that had fleas from the previous renter. It was disgusting! Do you get them alot around your ankles and below the knees?

Walk around in white socks and see if any little black bugs jump onto them.
That's my suggestion at least!

Good luck!
