Yeah! I thought it was a clever play on words.

Where exactly is this going to be? On the same side where WildFish is at or on the other side of Huebner, where it is still undeveloped land?

Uh oh, this doesn't sound too good for Amorcito's! Which has some pretty good green sauce and great daily specials BTW.

I like Amorcito's too, but I am hoping that Mi Tierra will be open 24 hours at the new location. And, it wouldn't be so touristy.

I can't confirm with a source, and I may be mistaken... but I remember someone in the biz telling me once that neither Mi Tierra or the originally planned Ruth Chris were coming to 1604/Huebner after all. Maybe that's changed - Mi Tierra would be a nice addition to 1604, though definitely a departure from their bread and butter downtown establishment.

Last week, I had a neighbor tell me Ruths Chris will be at the new development across from the RIm on I-10. Not sure if that would be Eilan or Cresta Bella?

Dont know how accurate that claim is but he works in the food insdustry and works with supplying meat to major chains. Sounds plausible.

I like Gringo's, especially the margarita's.

anyone heard of a vampiro? They sell them in Mazatlan, but only after dark. The only place I saw them there was at this food thing that would set up during the night. During the day it was a little shopping center thing, but at night they would set up a big tent thing in the open area and one of the things they sold was a vampiro. It was like a gordita/chalupa sorta thing, but not the same. I asked a lady at the Taqueria Mazatlan at Hamburger Hill if she had heard of them, but she looked at me like I was weird..
