If you travel much, you probably are REALLY into the Eagle Creek travel items. They have the cube, fold and luggage that is WONDERFUL in packing, quickly finding, unpacking stuff. Their luggage is the lightest weight on the market (HUGE factor now that both weight AND number of checked luggage has become so costly) and it has a LIFE TIME GAURANTEE for replacement or repair....anyway the container store is having a VERY good sale on these items if anyone in SA wants to stock up on these items.

Much cheaper than ordering online and paying shipping.

Also, the Sharper Image stores are having a GREAT closing sale...everything is at least 30% off...got some great, have always wanted but would not pay full price items that will get LOTS of use! I personally think the La Cantera store has a better selection than the North Star location, but we hit both!

Too bad we don't have one on the NW side. I hate the San Pedro/410 area, unless it's all fixed now. I never venture over there anymore.

Thanks for the tip, though--it's such a cool store!

Actually, it was very easy getting onto 410 coming to the NW side now...much improved in both directions and not bad at all!

OK--last time I was out that way, it was a nightmare. And the Sharper Image--is that at North Star Mall?

TIA!

Yes, both the Sharper Image and Brookstone at NSM, but the SI is right across from the Cheese Cake Factory.

SI at La Cantera as well...again, that one had better selection left.

You might want to call SI first though. I remember reading something after Christmas that they had filed for bankruptcy and would be closing stores. At least I think it was SI? Yep, it was them...found it here: Sharper Image Bankruptcy - Retail * US * News * Story - MSNBC.com

"San Francisco-based Sharper Image plans to close 90 of its 184 stores as soon as possible after it sells their inventories. It plans to continue to conduct business as usual while it develops a reorganization plan."

Yeppers, that is why everything is going so CHEAP!!! They have filed and are totally liquidating everything...including the shelves and fixtures. There is still a NICE selection of stuff at the La Cantera store tho...that is why I posted this in case any of you wanted to get in on the deal.

We just hit the Container store since we were in the area (we avoid it as well) and found the Eagle Creek stuff on a very good sale by accident. We actually sat thru a "packing demo" and won a $25 gift certificate for taking the time to sit thru 20 minutes of packing tips!!!
