Interested in golf community in hill country- anyone have thoughts about the new TPC community near Cibolo Canyons or Comanche Trace near Kerrville?

Very little to say.

I do think the Cibolo Canyons is going to be one of the most convenient golfing communities around. It will be right next to Tesoro, Valero, Wamu buildings and lots of shopping near by. When all is said and done, Cibolo Canyon will be in the middle of a city.

Many of the other golfing communities in the area will probably remote for a very long time.

Obviously, there are pro's and con's to being in a city. I don't think Kerville will have near the traffic etc.

have not played either.

Not a pro but a fair golfer- can only play summers here. About an 18 handicap. Also big factor- we would like to have community with fitness and clubhouse amenities for a few social activities.

Cibolo Canyons is nice, but really is just another suburban development. We almost bought in there, twice actually, but came to the conclusion that even though the houses were in the $300K range, we were still looking at 100's of other neighbors. Houses are nicer, but lots are still pretty small. There is also a huge subdivision just north of Cibolo that ruins a lot of the view, IMO. There will be bigger lots in there later, from what I've heard. Not sure what their views will be. There will be some garden or patio homes built on the east side, entering from Evan's. Those might be more what you are looking for.

I don't know much about the other place you mentioned. Cibolo has a clubhouse, but not sure about social activities. I'm not sure what all will be at the resort when it is done however. Not sure how the TPC works - if it's like a country club or not.
