Here are a few UTSA related threads you may be interested in reading:

I'm a student at UTSA, but live only 300 miles away. The school has completely changed in the past couple of years and with all thats going on now it will be a completely different school in only a couple of years. The school is working towards tier 1 status (like UT Austin and A&M College Station). The athletics department is on-track to join Conference USA in a couple of years. There is a ton of construction going on in/around the campus, and all but a couple of buildings have been built within the last decade. The school has some of the most reputable professors and attracts students from over 100 countries and all 50 states. It is also located in one of the nicest and fastest growing areas of San Antonio. The student population is about 30,000.

Here are a few pics of the campus I was able to find on flickr:

thanks so much for replying!
I'm confused cuz 100 people have 100 different opinions.. some say UTSA is good..some say it has a bad rep in texas..some even suggest I should apply all over again to other schools (thats in jan)..i dont think i can do that.. applying to US universities for us international students is like a 6-month affair..a lotta money and time and energy!
so u think UTSA is worth it?..and u know anything about UMSL?

thanks again!

why did you even apply there is you did not know the reputations of the schools--that is going about it backwards isn't it?

They also have a GREAT foreign student program. There is so much culture on campus. They have visiting professors from various universities all around the world. Sorry, I'm not very familiar with UMSL other than knowing the school is more difficult to get into, yet less than half the student population at UTSA. By the way, UTSA will be capping enrollment in a couple of years. This will make the school much harder to get into. Actually, admission standards have risen the past 2 years.

I am from Asia and applied to UTSA as my safe college lists. I got admission offer from UTSA for graduate study in architecture. But I am not sure of applying. I wonder is it worth accepting the offer in term of academic and future career prospects?

Go the university library near you and have a librarian help you search on the publication records of the faculty of each. Look at their web sites also for such. Google scholar each faculty member to see if their work is interesting.

There are also rating books of such.
