Thanks all! They don't open till 11:00 today but I have faxed in an application, sent an email, left voice mail, and well can you tell we are so excited to help these two boys out? It broke our hearts to read their story and just want to help if we can. We have two spayed female Min Pins that have the best life has to offer and we would love to help Guiness till his Daddy returns from his Marine duties. It feels so good to do something for a young man who is doing so much for all of us.... God Bless all of our service men and women for doing what they do for all of us. Will let you know tonite what we found out regarding Guiness.

hopefully you don't spoil him too much

One time my wife's cousin watched our cat for about 6 months while I was deployed and when we came back the cat was about twice as big as he was when we left.. he obviously ate VERY well..

We are the top pick and go for an interview tommorow with our two Min Pins to ensure compatibility with Guiness. We are so excited to be able to help him and his "daddy" out till his return.

Hubby works at Ft. Sam and everybody there is so into this story and thrilled it will have a nice ending too. Will post tommorow and let you know how the "date' went and hopefully he will be here in our home playing with my fur girls tommorow.

Pets are so smart and sweet. I was talking to my two Min Pins girls telling them how we were going to visit a little boy dog named Guiness that needed a home for a while as his daddy had to go away to fight for our Country and we had to do a very special task and give him a nice home him till his daddy returns. I said we are going to meet with him tommorow and I need you two girls to be very nice and sweet to him when we go to visit him.

They were both looking up at me and cocking their heads taking in every word... Then they both barked a few times as if to say "sure Mom we can do that"... This is so touching and funny because they don't usually bark like that--usually only if a stranger comes or something comes into their yard. I really think they understood what I was asking))) More later....

Ha, that's so cool! See, I post a lot of links, and most of them get swept under the carpet. But to have just one happy outcome from a thread......that makes it all worthwhile. So look for more linkage from me.

Good luck with the interview! This is a great story!!

Thanks much for all the support and kind words... Sapphire you are the reason that this all happened - had you not posted the link we would not have known anything about it... Then I have to thank our Vet who gave us a wonderful recommendation... They asked if we would keep in touch with the young man and we were so glad as that is what we wanted too. We want to send pics and letters and give him something to hold onto while he does so much for all of us here in the Country. RD2007 I sure will post a pic of the 3 of them if the interview goes well and he comes home with us tommorow... Again many thanks all and especially you Sapphire.

*all I did was post a link*

Thanks, but I think we should thank WOAI for reporting the story, and you for stepping up.

So, thanks! And do let us see him....I'm sure you'll get him!

And tell his Dad we're all thinking of him and hoping he gets home soon to his best buddy.

Hey, maybe the CDF can "Adopt" the daddy and sponser some care packages to him from his baby while he is deployed...I would very happily volunteer to coordinate and spearhead that effort!!!

Anyone?? Letters, care packages, etc????
