Bob Wills was wrong?

Another factor is that AT&T already owned a large office tower in Downtown Dallas.

Anyhow, I got on this thread by mistake, so I shall scoot...

I'm pretty sure they are locked in for a while on that one!

Read the article from 1992 when the company moved here:

AT&T | MySanAntonio.com (http://www.mysanantonio.com/business/att/stories/MYSA100492.att1992.EN.45731843.html - broken link)

the reason in a nutshell "MEXICO"

What a joke! As I mentioned in my previous thread, these things have more to do with CEO's desire than business.

That said, the company will still leave SA with a net add of MANY more jobs than it brought here with the initial relocation.

I'm really glad that I never used AT&T... except for when I first moved here we had SBC Southwestern Bell. We quickly switched to digital phone.

Truer words were never spoken. It is pretty funny when you think about it. A communication company can't create lines of commuication well enough for it's own employees and partners so they have to move to a city with a better airport. Thanks Saphire that's downright comical. I tried to rep you but they wouldn't let me. I owe you one.

I agree with you, but their press release focused a lot on the airport aspect:
