I remember when the only license bureau in town was behind McCreless Mall. It was the only one I knew of anyway. My neighbor works for Mrs Baird's gives us goodies all the time. Sometimes the expired stuff is truly expired!

I've heard Boerne is pretty quick.

I went to the one by Babcock road earlier this year. I was there by 7:30am and there was already a line but I was out by 9.

The last time I was at the Babcock office, one of the workers there said that they were the busiest DL office in the state. I usually renew my license online, but if you can't, I recommend the office on General McMullen just south of US 90.

I usually do mine online - the last time I tried the system wouldn't let me, and the lady at the counter said it was because after a few online renewals you have to come in and do it. I went to the office by Kelly, and waited maybe ten minutes.

Well, if you don't feel up to driving to Boerne, etc., I'd say get there there before they open, and NEVER make the mistake of hitting that place at noon. I was there last week (after just finding out the Perrin Beitel location closed - the one I used for years) at about eleven or so and it was HELL, then I saw the lunch crowd gather at noon and they were spilling out the front door as you said. You'd think with the closure of the Perrin Beitel location, they could have moved a few of the folks from there to Babcock and maybe have a worker at every post, not just 4 or 5 grumps as per usual, with 5-6 empty booths. Urgh!

Why didn't they just open the new universal city location, and leave Perrin-Beitel alone. I think the NE side can support more than one DPS office.
