The Lion and Rose Pub....about any location. Alamo Heights and Stone Oak are both nice....haven't been to the other(s)?. Not so "meat market" feeling.....unless you like that atmosphere.

Default Bogie's?

Bogie's is an over 40 crowd. It's near 410 and Callahan.

Ugh! The Alamo Heights location is so smoke-filled that I can barely breathe when I go there and I smell like an ashtray when I leave. I try to never go there if I can avoid it. The 410/Blanco location has a glassed in area where smoke is contained... great atmosphere, fun crowd... and no smoke smell

Default just my POV.....hangout...40's crowd

1.) Raffles aka Wrinkles...mostly older crowd (40 & up) and some even beyond my age range. I did not like it at all plus the bartenders and staff are not very friendly. Disco and Classic Rock

2.) Finnegans on 281 Mixed crowd but more a bar atmosphere with a nicer setting including pool tables
Rock and Classic Rock

3.) Indigo Joes, Bennegans, Stone Werks, Sherlocks and Pericos (live music & great happy hour specials) all serve food as well and have a mixed crowd but I have noticed most 37-47 are already coupled up. Mixed music & live bands

4.) Swiggs (club w/make shift dance floor), Hooligans (nice specials inc. food service), Cross eyed Seagull (bar setting) mostly a college aged crowd but a few of us 40's clan. I do find most of the men my age just stare at the younger girls who are their daughter's age just wishing and hoping. Me I get hit on by the young (25-28) and that is just not me no matter how flattering it is I amm not in need of a ego boost. Not that dating way out of one's age range is impossible....I just think it makes the senior look much older than need be when standing next to thier juniors.

If you find a place let me know...I am an implant as well. I am not really into hangin out solo or doing the bar/club scene but when I do feel the urge it would be nice to mingle with a crowd that falls within a 5-7-10 yr age range.
