You are correct. I think the center channel (voice) isn't adjusted right - the music and special effects were very clear and loud, but the speaking portion was sometimes difficult to hear, especially at the end where you could not tell at all what was being said.

That said, I thought the movie was worth the IMAX price. I saw Spiderman 3 there last year and it was just a little bigger and louder, with a portion of the screen at the top and bottom not used (due to the film's format) - a waste of money in my opinion. The Dark Night, however, had many of the set pieces filmed in IMAX format so that the entire screen was filled with a razor sharp image - very, very cool!

Yeah! I heard Christopher Nolan remarking on this which made me want to see it twice, well worth it for a movie of this caliber! Plus, I get a kick out of many of the scenes because I stood in some of the very same spots (Courthouse, Lower Wacker, etc.) and used to work right around the corner from where the Lamborghini scene was shot (Lake St.).

But yeah, once I heard about the audio problems, that was all she wrote. I saw it and the Regal Cielo Vista Stadium 18, and was none too impressed with both the audio (theater, not the movie) and the video. The film just seemed to dark in certain scenes and not because the movie was dark, no pun intended.

I think I may have been slightly spoiled with 1080p ; this was never more apparent than the 1st 6 minutes (prologue) because this was already released in 1080p digital format prior to the film's release.

For this reason, I will forgo the Palladium, but I'm ecstatic about the DVD/Blu-Ray rls date.
