Any suggestions on where to find one that's not uber-fancy and super expensive?

I'm looking for something 55 gal + to hold water. I tried using a trash can (a pretty solid one) and it ripped pretty quickly. I don't plan to move it around but need something a little more solid - like a large drum. I can picture it in my mind but can't think of where I've seen them. I looked on the websites (Lowes, HD) and closest I found were trash cans.

It can be old, used, even ugly. I just need it to hold non-potable water. My little buckets aren't cutting it.

Any suggestions?

I saw some on craigslist.
55 gallon white barrels and 275 gallon totes (http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/for/1283487624.html - broken link)

I sometimes see them in my local newspaper. If there are any this week I will let you know.

A few years ago there was an old place (I want to say off Hackberry) that had about 100 55-gal. drums on their lot. Don't remember exactly where, or what was even in them, but ....

never mind, this is no help at all. If I was in my car I could find it again, but I'm on the NW side and can't get over there. Maybe near Carolina? Florida? Nope....I honestly can't remember, but for some reason I'm thinking it's under the underpass from Little Red Barn....going towards DT you would turn left on one of those side streets.

I BET satx56 knows where I'm talking about.

Thanks Txtrkgrl. I didn't even think of Craigslist.

And Sapphire - I know the area. Lots of sort of large lots with random stuff. Good idea. I can drive around and see if I see any for sale. Thanks

Have you tried animal feed stores? I know a friend of mine has a ranch and stores dog food in them.
