I loved the pics from the Tobin Hill area. McCollough grocery was our "regular" corner store when we lived off Evergreen. I liked it over there... and as one of those making between $7-10 an hour, there are still some cheap homes for RENT over there. Forget buying though.

As for the "rule of thumb" on home prices, it is actually your gross annual income times 2.5, not 4 times your gross, which is a fast track to foreclosure unless you have absolutely no other debt. The 4 times your income thing is a bit crazy. IMO.

I believe it's in San Antonio Ranch looking south towards Helotes. Nice work capturing the diversity of SA.

Terrific pics 210...I'm not sure how I missed all these great pics. Brings back a lot of good memories especially the areas around Tobin Hill and Monte Vista when I was in college and lived in that area.

And yes, the bridge pic over the roadway with the hills in the background is San Antonio Ranch, just north of Helotes off Bandera Rd (as jimbobvandy mentioned.) I love the hills of NW SA and I miss them now too since I've moved away also, and only come back to visit family when I can.

Default Wow

210,
Thanks for sharing the photos! I was amazed at how many buildings I recognized and could name just from seeing a piece of them in your photos.

I tried to copy and paste a photo in my response but couldn't. In your last set of photos, the 22nd pic from the top, is that the house next to La Fonda on Main? I believe it is and if so, I know the most recent owner, previous to the existing owner.

The exterior doesn't look like much but it's one of those great, huge, old houses that is huge on the inside.

Thanks for sharing all of the photos.

These are some pictures I took last weekend of some development on the north/northwest side from Limestone Ranch, Sonoma Ranch, and Alamo Ranch.

Jim, when you upload it to the site (imageshack, xs, etc) click on the picture so you can get the full sized version. You're posting the thumb of the picture.
