We live in Leon Springs and the karate places closest to us have a monthly fee for unlimited visits and options to go to class 6 days a week. The problem is that we only want to take our kids once, maybe twice a week, and would like to pay accordingly. (for example, one place is around $150 a month unlimited for 1 kid. If my kids only went 4x a month, this is almost $40 per lesson per kid.)

Does anyone know of any place on the NW side that has tiered pricing based on how many times a week you attend or that offers a lower monthly rate because they offer less classes?

Thanks,
Betsy

PS - please no comments about how important it is to take kids more than once a week to karate classes. Once a week is what we're willing to commit to based on other activity obligations and wanting a couple of nights a week home as a family.

Karate smart is held in conjunction with Northside school district- if you look up either the NISD.net website or karate smart- you should be able to find what you need. It is held at one of the schools, (they will announce which school closer to the start of the next session which I think starts in Sept)one night a week. Our oldest child has gone there for the last 4 years and now the youngest is starting.

Check out National School of Martial Arts. It is 5 days a week but for $70 a month.

You don't have to take them every day but when you can you have that option. You could drop them off and take a stroll at Shops at La Cantera.

They have 3 classes a day with the 5:30pm class being more for the younger kids and the newbies but they can attend the 6:45pm class as well.

You can go and check it out and sit for a session and I think they'll let your child try it out for one session. I'm not sure if they still do that. This Friday they are having promotion night, when students test for their next higher belt.

I'm not to thrilled about what NISD offers. It is good but from what I've seen the children are not taught everything they should be taught. It's more basic stuff.
