The good- Stone Oak. the new devopments in the suburbs outside of loop 1604

The bad-ghetto's downtown and inside loop 410 except Alamo Heights

the rest of inside 410 except AH is pure trash.

The worst- The rape of the Hill country outside of 1604, Sprawl straight out of Dallas, or Phoenix.
The Best- Seeing friend's and their parent's at Oak Park HEB and catching up with them, as you have for the last 20 years. Las Palapas, not having to go outside your zip code to get everything you would ever want.

Where is Las Palapas? My knowledge of SA is pretty much limited to south of the McNay, north of the old Lone Star Brewery, east of Lady of the Lake, and west of the Alamo Dome.

Las Palapas is a small chain of tex-mex places. The have inside sit down table waiter service, or drive-thru service.

I would love to see the votes of the various people on this site for best Mexican food place. But sadly I have to often sit down and explain to people why a mom-and-pop Italian place is almost certainly going to be better than the Olive Garden. Too few people realize what makes a restaurant good.

Oh, I'd like to add a good thing to the list--the downtown Public Library, Amazing building!

And Schilo's Deli--especially their homemade root beer.

We just recently bought a mobile home in the Spring Branch area to start spending our winters in. We were only down for about 10 days so I still have a lot to learn about SA. The best part for us was the food (I'm going to have to watch that!), and the friendliness. Our new neighbors greeted us with a hug and a warm "Welcome to Texas". Where we come from it is especially friendly if you get a handshake. The biggest disapointment was the littering on the roadsides. We got a few comments from people who had been up to our area on how immaculately clean it was. I couldn't help wondering why you Texans could have such a beautiful place and throw garbage all over it. Haven't really been into the city yet, just my observations from the surrounding countryside.

Default Drivers are the worst

I thought Nashville was bad until I moved here.

I've seen some of the absolute dumbest driving here.

Would love to go Fried Green Tomatoes on some people in this town..

The best thing about SA is that I live here. Most surprising is that I havent moved yet. I would miss my SA too much.
