I hope that goof off isn't like goo gone because whenever I tried that the last thing I remembered was painting my toenails with it....still haven't found the toenails. Although many of my co-workers use goof off and don't seem to have suffered any adverse effects from it.
The next time I use the Ouja board, I'll let the husband know about the gaffers. (I think I was a little rough on him.)
I'll try to stay on topic. I'll try to stay on topic. I'll try to stay on topic.

Seriously... taping up windows in San Antonio? I didn't think it was going to get that windy.

I thought I heard winds could be up to 80mph. I don't know what that means in relation to my windows but it seems pretty strong.

The KSAT people say it would blow through SA quickly and leave 2-5 inches of rain. I wish someone would take the time to spell out what it all means in terms of how much wind, over how many hours, and what kind of damage said level of wind would produce. It doesn't seem like that would be too hard to do! I'm not asking for a precise storm track, just what the specific consequences would be IF it did hit.

Power outages, flooding in low lying areas...steady wind for most of Saturday. All can be expected.

But this happens everytime (well maybe not every) we have a storm. This seems bigger.

According to the interactive map here, San Antonio has a 7% chance of seeing hurricane force winds of 74+ MPH, a 20% chance of seeing storm winds of 58-73 MPH and a 49% chance of seeing tropical storm winds of 39-57 MPH. The greatest chance of each, according to the chart on the interactive map, is at 10 AM on Saturday. That's about half of what you were looking for.

It may seem bigger...but 50MPH winds are not that bad in the grand scheme of things.

Thanks, that helps Bowie. It then seems like, worst case scenario, this won't be a big deal to SA. In terms of preparedness, I was wondering who is advising people about how much wind it takes to send a tree branch flying through a window--practical things like that that will help people to prepare. But this probably won't matter because it looks like the worst would miss us. Thanks!

Some models are shifting towards a Houston landfall... boy that would be terrible for them. If that's the case then we would see scattered showers and not even TS winds.
