TW's website lists dozens of channels with expire/d/ing agreements:

"Time Warner Cable San Antonio’s agreements with programmers to carry their services routinely expire from time to time. We are usually able to obtain renewals or extensions of such agreements, and carriage of programming services is discontinued only in rare circumstances. I just happened to call TW because I was having connection issues with my cable (screen kept going black), wait time was about 10 minutes. They said they were getting flooded with calls regarding KSAT and that message running along the bottom of the station. KSAT is trying to charge TW for their reception. I remember this kind of thing happening last year with some other station, can't remember off hand which one.

Seems to me either way the consumer pays, either monetarily or inconvenience.
