We just moved from California Los Angeles area, and need to find a good eye doc so some of us can get contacts and I need a good Back Doc for pain from accident and metal plate in my neck. Would be great to find one in New Braunfels, but we are willing of course to travel some for someone good. San Antonio's fine too, or Schertz or somewhere like that. I am new to this small town thing so I would think since it's soo less crowded they may give more time to a person. Do you find this to be true?

PS-Has anyone with astigmatism that uses toric lenses found a good brand that doesn't slide around and make hard to read??

You said you're willing to drive...the best eye doctor I know is in north Austin: Dr. Bob Joe. I drive up to his office for my annual exams. Contacts are one of his specialties; he fit my mom with bifocal contacts 15 years ago and she loves them.

I will be checking back to this thread, however; I suppose the day may come when I can't get to Austin and it would be good to know of someone in San Antonio.

Smile I Know The Best Of The Best Of Both Doctors!!!!!!

Hi GodsQ,
I'm sure there are a lot of really good eye doctors around, but if you want the best, go to Dr. Way right there in New Braunfels. He's very thorough with his examinations and his staff is absolutely wonderful. When it comes to contacts, they will fit you perfectly, they actually gave me some samples of different colors to play with. What fun that was.
Dr. William Tisdall is number ONE when it comes to your back. He's located in San Antonio Near Stone Oak and 1604. I've been to many pain and back doctors and they all suggested surgery. Not this one! He's very aggressive about ordering TENS Units and trying Lidoderm patches and wonderful things that I didn't even know existed.
When it comes to my eyes and my back I don't fool around. These two are the best. It's worth the drive to San Antonio. I promise.

Hi. We all were loving how happy you sound-I read it to my family. Isn't that funny how you can sound a way even though it's only typed. Well, we are going to look up that doc right now. And for the back doc I will look up too, but wow, I sooo wish Tens unit and lidoderm worked for me. I have a tens unit and lidoderm patches, but I can't get nothing from them. But you makin' me wanna go try again. I already had surgery after a work accident jacked me up. It took a long time to heal but eventually was better mostly I think, but accidentally got reinjured when I was pregnant and two back to back and the constant carrying of two children just furthered it or didn't let it heal...if it would have...so I don't even know what to say about that. But I am on a quest to try to get out of pain, cause I'm sooo sick of this medicine and the side effects, but it's the only way I can really get any relief for a small amount of time to deal with my two toddlers...and I sooo would like to be the old active me to give them a better experience in life with me, if you know what I mean. Sorry didn't mean to go on about it.
