Really? That'll be good for us if we end up selling next year

Chaka -

You're probably making a joke, but I was referring to downtown "proper", not KW/Lavaca/Southtown (which I believe to be fantastic places, by the way).

Living in MV, I always think it's strange when people say I live "downtown".

Ah, I was reading dyslexic. I read "south of 300K downtown" as "300K south of downtown"

However, I figure since I am a 15 minute walk to the Alamo and Riverwalk, have a perfect view of the Tower of the Americas outside my kitchen window, and HemisFair is considered my neighborhood Park, Lavaca is pretty much 'downtown.' If I want to be more specific I say "Southtown." Kind of like saying you live in San Antonio when you actually live in the suburbs or Helotes. Unless people *know* the exact area, the larger reference frame works better.

Actually, if I say to people I live "Downtown" they always say "Oh, King William?" They don't seem to realize people actually *do* live in downtown proper - lots of places to live. can't tell you how many times I hear that only tourists go downtown.

I don't think of MV as downtown - it's a hefty walk.

We may indeed be selling next year, if we have to leave the area.

I like to take the occasional bike ride with the kids.

I have lived in Detroit, and am coming from Dallas. I have heard San Antonio traffic is much better than those places.
That area is in a decline in terms of quality of the communities. You would have better options near the all new Voelker Ranch Park that lies between Blanco and Northwest Military. It is a very nice area.
