Apparently it is oil. $70 a barrel.

Someone needs to tell Wells Fargo this is a mistake. At Quality Pre-Owned, credit doesn't matter.

That place was pure sleaze. They worked deals based on payment, and I'm sure screwed plenty of people on car prices. None of their vehicles has an actual price listed on them, and if asked point blank what the price of the car was, none of the sales people could tell you.

Owner Steve Garrett was on the news tonight. He said that he plans to reopen the dealerships when the economy improves.

thank god, last year when i was working with the councilwoman we had a 67 year old lady that went looking for an affordable used vehicle. she took her 15 year old granddaughter that speaks better english than she does.

quality convinced the granddaughter that in order for her grandmother to test drive the vehicle she had to sign some release paperwork. told her she could keep the vehicle for a week. next thing you know, she shows up to the dealership after the weekend and decided it was an ok vehicle, but she wanted to negotiate the price.

they told her, "dont worry, its already yours"

we had to fight the dealership for answers, found the lady a probono lawyer, and needless to say we uncovered hundreds of issues with these people all across the city. very, very bad and good riddance.

it's pretty hard to feel sorry for a dealership. I have some friends that are/were car salespeople and I feel sorry for them and their families, but the dealerships themselves (owners mostly) need to reflect on things and maybe see this as some sort of sign.

Bump for Quality Pre-Owned's impressive prescience. I made fun of it at the time, but with a decent amount of hindsight it looks like they made a very intelligent decision.

I do not feel bad for them, karma is a son of a gun.

It;s unfortunate people now are out of a job due to the greed of other people.
